It started in Cuba and there was a period as a refugee in Miami. My family tried Chicago to get away from Miami but it was too cold there. Finally settled in Los Angeles where I studied art and literature and wound up working in the fashion industry. Nearly twenty years later I went to the University of Pennsylvania and got a couple of Masters in Landscape Architecture and Historic Preservation. I enjoyed many years of creative camaraderie designing landscapes and many urban projects. Then we had this crazy recession that we are still living and it reframed my life. I took early retirement and sold my Collingswood house where the blog started. I now live in Tarpon Springs Florida, still not old enough to collect social security but almost there. I have designed a multitude of gardens around the country and I am now working on a new tropical one for myself. The blog was also about Taxi , my Dalmatian. Now Limo follows in her tradition barely a pup in Collingswood but quite a Champion here in Tarpon where he chases the lizards but has never managed to catch one yet.
